Councillor Alan Rhodes

I have served as an elected member of Bassetlaw District Council since 1986. I am one of the longest serving and most experienced members of the council.

I have previously served as Cabinet Member for Housing and Cabinet Member for Environment and Sustainability in earlier Labour administrations and I am a former Leader of Nottinghamshire County Council.

I was delighted to be asked by the Leader of the council to serve on the cabinet and to be given the important portfolio responsibility of Corporate and Financial services is an honour and a privilege.

As the portfolio holder responsible, will ensure that the important partnership working between the council and other organisations serving our Bassetlaw residents is positive and productive, that the council operates in an efficient and cost-effective way, always giving council tax payers value for money and that the customer experience that residents and businesses have in dealing with Bassetlaw District Council is as positive as it possibly can be.

I am proud to live in the ward I represent and will continue to work hard on behalf of the residents of my ward and Bassetlaw as a whole.
